The Student Council

What is a Student Council?
  • It can provide an opportunity for pupils to voice their opinions and offer suggestions in relation to different aspects of school life.

  • It can encourage and promote initiatives from the pupils.

  • It can act as a channel of communication for the pupils.

  • It can encourage pupils (and thereby parents) to organise events central to the life of the school.

  • It can provide an opportunity to raise funds for the school or charities.

 The roles and responsibilities of our Student Council are:
  • To attend weekly meetings during a yard break time under a teachers guidance.

  • To act as a student liaison person to voice pupils concerns, ideas or opinions and offer suggestions in relation to different aspects of school life.

  • Occasionally meeting and greeting special visitors to the school.

  • Welcoming Junior Infant pupils to the school.

  • Helping to organise charity events.

  • Running, in school competitions, such as art/writing competitions.

  • Involved in the running of special events such as Grandparents day/bake sales.

  • Promoting Gaeilge throughout the school.

  • Delivering news that is important to pupils through newsletter.

  • Promoting health, safety and wellbeing of pupils.

  • Promoting the Catholic ethos with student council members leading prayers at assembly.

Latest News

Well done to our Students' Council for their work in organising our Christmas Jumper Day.They collected an astounding €1399.82 for Crumlin Hospital for Sick Children.Thank you to all the children, parents/ guardians and staff for contributions towards this worthy cause.
